Steering sideways
The caterpillar might not look that big here, but the foundations shuddered when he rolled back and forth past our house. The flaggers and pilot car have their work cut out, as the road's a lot windier and hillier than this shows. Yesterday I drove down around the curve and came face to face with a giant dump truck coming up in my lane.
A warmer day, 81 degrees (27C) and sunny. The four of us at home, all of us concentrating on our own work and just gathering at dinner. For a change I didn't listen to the news, nor did I watch the vice presidential debate tonight...I'll catch reports of it, and I've already been briefed by our resident current events advisor (son D.), who also filled me in on the Arizona senate seat debate and every high profile race in the country. I did read our county's daily Covid stats, though. I always do that. Another person died yesterday. No idea who, but I hate it when that number goes up.
