Whitstable

A day on the North Kent coast.  First, Whitstable for a bracing walk along the beach, past the famous Old Neptune pub and taking yet more photographs of colourful huts, before the essential lunch of oysters and crab.

Then, Herne Bay, a well-preserved seaside resort, with an interesting pier, featuring large paintings based on traditional postcards. Lovers of superlatives will also admire the UK's first free-standing clocktower, built in 1837.

On returning to Dungeness, I went to have a look at the sound mirrors.  It was difficult to get close but they are explained here.
