Handy men!
Robert came this morning and took Archie up the hill. He had a coffee, socially distanced in the garden when he came back. I stewed the last of the apples when they were out. No waste!
Then the plumber came back with his van and his powerful waterjet, stuffed one end down the shower drain, swooshed it, and Bingo! The stuff that came out - years of gunk. Other plumbers have fiddled with it, and sorted it temporarily, but nobody did this. I had to restrain myself from hugging him!
JR then walked into town in her new boots (12,000 steps!) to return the boots she didn’t want. I lost count of how many were sent for, or brought home, but it’s an important decision, one that I usually rush into, then find that they nip my toes, and then never wear them again.
A ‘handyman’ was recommended to us by a friend as being good and reliable. Just what we need! He came this afternoon, and he’s ideal.
"Can you lay tiles?"
"Yes, I’ve got all the gear."
"How about painting a bedroom?"
"Yep, I’ve done my time as a painter."
"And what about hiding this cord from the new Frame tv in the wall?"
"Hmmm, yes, that’s possible..."
Brilliant. And he’s taking away the pallet that’s still sitting in our garden - I’m not up to sawing it, and Jordan’s too busy and too tired (he has a one year old child and a new job).
Took a walk round the block later. A nice evening.
