Haa o Sand

A sunny and windy morning, and clouded over, with a shower.  The sun came back in the afternoon, and warm.  More cloud this evening.

Another day working in the museum.  It was a really quiet morning, slightly busier in the afternoon.  Met friend Julie and walkies with the dogs.  Working in the pub later.  Suspicions of mice in the house have been confirmed, traps have been set today.

The sun was still shining when I finished work, so headed out for a quick run, with a mission to investigate the Haa of Sand from the outside.  I had old photos of a Haa, but it's not this one.  This stunning building was built around 1754, for sir Andrew Mitchell, as a summer house.  A very typical style for a Laird's house of the time.  I assume the croft house may have been servants quarters, or possibly much later addition.  Taken at the Haa of Sand, Sandsting.
