This iconic zero-carbon eco-village was built in 2001 in south London on farmlands in Beddington. The Village has 100 homes, office space, a college and community facilities. The award winning design was created to achieve big reductions in climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions and water usage.
I had heard about it from friends, and as I was in that area today, I went and had a look. Very interesting, with a variety of property designs - see extra - and communal green area with children's play ground. I really liked the the distinctive colourful wind cowls which help fresh air to circulate.
