Cache of Conkers
I took a walk around the small Camer Country Park nature reserve today. The Autumn colours are really beginning to develop now, especially in the damp conditions following much needed rain.
My main target was a fallen tree trunk I had noticed a couple of years ago with some delightful fungi colonies. The trunk and fungi were still there, but my eye was drawn by this cache of conkers in a small hollow left by a lost branch on the trunk, which nicely sums up the Autumn colours.
