Only Foals and Horses

Here, only Foals and Horses need apply
But, even then, numbers will be high
We have limited space though you see
But we'd take them all, left up to me
We've a big space for our shire Danny
But unfortunately there's not many
And most of our residents are small
Section A's, shetlands and all
Tom Thumb, Havoc and their friends
Whose needs, it seems, never ends
As it's a struggle to keep them all fed
And to provide straw for their bed
But we've a loyal volunteer crew
Honest, hard working through and through
Who turn up every day without fail
In sunshine, wind, snow and hail
To muck out the horses, donkeys and shetlands
It's like each person has sixteen hands
And an early Christmas morning stint
Is an altogether precious time spent
Feeling the true meaning of that time
Helping those unfortunate creatures sublime
There's laughter amongst the stalls
Especially when in the heap one falls
And each person, volunteer or staff
Joins in the good natured laugh
Then it's straight back down to the work
For not a one of us is inclined to shirk
As each of us there rates this sanctuary high
A sanctuary where only Foals and horses need apply
