Trees
Stark stand denuded trees
Dead leaves drift
Before an icy breeze
Ice fingered frost
Snow's deep drift
Each says, all is lost
Death and dormancy
In measures weighed
By Jack Frost's necromancy
Are doled like alms
By frigid wind, denied
Devoid of qualms
Dried grasses protecting
New growth
Scared of ice detecting
Drop in posture frozen
As swords falling forth
In suicidal explosion
Protection of young
Is in order
So new life's bell may be rung
Hereditory intuition
Repelling boarder
Of Frost's perdition
Stark stand trees
Leaf torn denuded
Awaiting Spring's appease
Winter's mighty thrall
Soon to be concluded
Patience concquers all
