2020 Tuesday — Power Washing

After two days of fog — you guessed it, we woke-up to more fog this morning. Everything was gray.

Today was quite interesting — we had our house “mildly” power washed. We are now so clean!

I learned on social media of a local window-washer who also cleans raingutters and solar panels and does power washing. So I contacted him to inquire about power washing our house. I was concerned about paint getting damaged. He reassured me that he would do a “mild” washing so we asked for an estimate and he came by and gave us his quote last Saturday and said he’d be here at 8:00 Tuesday morning (that’s today).

So we were up early. I got the bed made. Then we moved all furniture that was near windows because we wanted to watch for water seepage and we hiked-up all the window coverings because I didn’t want them to get any water on them.

So the entire house felt like we were exposed to the world because this place is all windows. I wanted to scoot a chair into our walk-in pantry and close the door and sit in there until the “power” guy was gone.

Well, none of the windows leaked — NONE — I was so relieved. None of the paint was damaged.

While our house was getting washed, the fog disappeared. It just rolled up like a big piece of carpet and headed for the horizon. So I took photos. The sky was pale blue, the ocean was cobalt, and the white on the waves was sparkling. After the gray of fog, the color of everything is glowing.

You ought to see our newly washed paint. Our little house is lavender; it’s glowing. People walk past our place and tell us our house makes them happy. Other people walk past and loudly tell their partner that they “hate the color of that house.” They really hate it now; it’s glowing!
