The Reformers Tree
It was originally an oak tree which became the focus of protests in 1866 by the Reform league who campaigned to give all adult men the right to vote.
During one protest the tree was set alight and the stump became a notice board and a rallying point.
The area became famous as Speakers Corner.
Today this mosaic in Hyde Park commemorates the tree.
Enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens ending up at the Ivy Brasserie for a very pleasant lunch.
