Marrickville Metro travelators

These travelators carry people in and out of the Marrickville Metro shopping centre. The murals were painted by Brad Robson. The near one is of Lilian Fowler (died 1954), the first female mayor in Australia and a member of the NSW parliament. The far one is of Thomas Holt (died 1888), a local businessman and politician. Not visible on the opposite wall is Mary Reiby (died 1855), a successful businesswoman and former convict (transported under a seven year sentence from England for horse stealing).
