Giant Redwood in Phoenix Park
Beautiful sunny day today in Dublin, so went for a walk in Phoenix Park, since I can't get out of County Dublin to the Wicklow Hills because of this pesky virus thing. There are some giant redwoods in Phoenix Park and I took this perspective shot of one. Near the bottom you can just see a little hole in the bark, about the size of a tennis ball, with some white streaks just underneath it. The white streaks are guano and that's a tree creeper's nest --- they've learned how to gouge a hollow out of the soft bark to make a cosy little shelter for themselves at night. Snug!
