After an incredibly stormy night, but with the weather clearing today we decided to take a train ride further north along the Kapiti Line.

Little did we realise a Steam Train and Museum would be open and operational today. We couldn’t resist the chance to ride on this historic old train on a return trip between Paekakariki and Paraparaumu, north of Wellington, NZ. It was certainly stepping back in time.

In the extra you will read why this train is called the Passchendaele Train.
