Monsters

I looked up kids and monsters and learned that most people think it is a natural evolutionary reaction to humans being vulnerable in the dark and there being, you know, tigers and bears in the dark. 

Some of the articles said you would never, back on the savanna, make your child sleep alone when they could get eaten and this is why children scream when you try to make them sleep alone now. 

I was thinking that living through these times is like finding out that all the adults also believe there are monsters under the bed....and hiding in the closet....and crouching in the shadows. 

Part of you is sorry they agree with you. 

Ruth Bader Ginsberg's death sparked massive political donations. $100,000 a minute donations. It also sparked a wave of voter registration.
