Cuillins

The day dawned clear and sunny, and the extra is of the view across Loch Dunvegan from the campsite. We left quite early and took the blip of Loch Harport and the Cuillins as we drove to Glen Brittle. The cloud from yesterday appeared to be disappearing south so we set of for Coir a’ Ghrunnda in optimistic mood. However the cloud over Rum started to come back towards Skye and by the time we started on the ascent up to Loch Coir a’ Grunnda, the tops disappeared into mist. We had lunch by the loch and waited for the weather to change (or not) and eventually decided to go back as I want to see the view from all the hills. We thought the weather would be bound to improve if we went down, but luckily it got worse as the mist lowered even further. The forecast for the rest of the week wasn’t great so we expected to just bag some Marilyns before coming home.

Yesterday’s blip
