Deep in the woods
Took an early morning walk in the New Forest where pale blue sloes were lining branches alongside fully ripe holly trees, scrub oak and other bushes. As a child I was able to walk through a wood totally silently but now my larger feet mean I can't avoid dried leaves, sticks, acorns and husks that all crackle and pop alarming rabbits, robins and squirrels of my approach.
This weather vane stood out against the sky above a hedge bounding the wood and the extra shows some of the fruits and berries I found
