not just another Tuesday morning
The mist was extraordinary on the Common this morning - delicate stripes as if someone had taken a ruler and run a fine brush across, from one side to the other. Looks better large.
And then a bike ride. Out on my own as Anniemay has a major service booked with the hairdresser - at least a couple of hours work.
I do the 4 hills challenge that we tackled a few weeks ago. It takes me just over an hour and I’m back to have a coffee and pastry (see extra) with Anniemay before her appointment. I’m really buzzing when I get back - unlike yesterday.
On Monday I walked the entire perimeter of the Common. It’s about 3 miles in total and took me an hour or so. I had to stop twice to sit down and when I got back could only manage to crawl onto the sofa.
I could ride a bike (admittedly with a motor these days) up a long hill, time and time again. But walk up one? No chance. Even the short hundred yards or so walk up the slope from the road to the house leaves me panting.
Perhaps it’s all in the mind - the thought of coffee and pastry afterwards.
