A day bookended by visits to the beach, walking Jess just after sunrise and before bed. A lot of Portobello sand seems to have migrated into the flat. We will have to hoover before we leave!

We have had a full day.. First of all Sarah and I took a bus into Edinburgh with the cello and left it at Stringers to be repaired. Then another bus to Silverknowes and a walk down to the sea to meet Luke and Jess and satisfy my growing addiction to tidal islands with a trip across the causeway to Cramond Island. The tides are just right now for a nice relaxed visit and we had plenty of time to explore all the old military buildings and to walk right around the island.

This afternoon Luke went climbing, Sarah had a rest and I read my book on the beach.

Tonight we treated ourselves to a takeaway pizza and a film ("Into the Spider-Verse")

We will be heading home tomorrow night. This trip feels a little like the one Luke and I took to Belfast in March - a kind of freedom tinged with uncertainty about the future.
