Lakeland Dipper (further afield)
I went out to see the tide first thing ... it was a stunningly serene morning after those high winds.
Then the day contained a series of wildly disparate conversations ...
‘It’s Steve, the Mole man ... can you let Rosemary know that there’s a mole somewhere between the flagpole and old Mrs.Gerrard’s grave... tell her I’m on to it’.
The architect came to do some looking and measuring. I made her coffee. Her dad has IPF ... one of the few people I’ve met who has experience of it and I was the first she had come across. Not a conversation either of us had expected to have today.
An unexpected encounter with Peter and Mel ... I ended up spending a couple of hours in the garden reminiscing. Mel had forgotten that Laddie Lane, the ferryman, had been immortalised as Mr Onetoomany on Jackanory.
Eventually after yet more sorting, boxing, etc.etc. I went to Overy to give Juliet a bit I’d forgotten for the lampshade and then walked down the bank to East Head (watching a hare in the late sun loping across the fields) for a swim just before sunset and sat in the dunes watching the sun go down with a beer.
