Lunch with Janice

Today we walked 4.23 miles to have lunch with Janice. Janice gave me a big bowl of water. And she gave Ann a big bowl of prawn & salmon pasta and a bottle of wine. We've had such a lovely afternoon. And fortunately after my initial hyper behaviour I turned into a very well behaved little pooch. Yay!!!

…............................Soooooooooooooooooo apparently Boris & Nicola are attending an emergency COBRA meeting tomorrow. And then new rules will no doubt be issued???!! Hmmmmmm............... we don't care if restaurants & pubs have to close at 10pm. What we do care about is; if there is a total ban on meeting anyone from another household. FFS! Obviously the government are just working on 'database figures' and apparently grandparents seeing their grandchildren is very important, but so is being a single person home alone. On the news today it was stated that there are 125 suicides per week. At the moment that's less than the number dying from COVID. Mental Health in the UK is becoming a HUGE issue. Nobody seems to care about that.................................

Anyway after 104 days in lock down we will now just continue to do our own thing. Maybe we're right and maybe we're wrong. But every time we go out to meet someone, Ann makes the decision as to whether it is safe or not. She's met a lot of friends in pubs/restaurants for the 'eat out to help out' scheme (everywhere has been very safe), but now we're being told that we've been naughty for going out??

And because we live alone, we're most definitely not bringing the virus back home with us to infect anyone else. And we would hope that anyone that we meet would apply the same rules to themselves. Ie, we have a couple of friends who live with ageing parents but it is their choice to meet us. They're grown up adults who are perfectly capable of assessing whether seeing me & my owner is going to put their 'ageing parents' at risk??!

As far as we're concerned this whole situation is a joke. Obviously COVID is a HUGE problem. But......................... the 'second wave' has been talked about for months. It just seems like it's the only topic of conversation now. WHY??????????????????
