Not quite a selfie

I’d agreed to do the 6.30 wake up this morning but as I didn’t hear anything from downstairs, I left it till after 7 and found Phon just sitting in his crate. Quick toilet break in the garden - not that quick as it took 4 trips before he’d done his business - but not quick enough to save my slippers. Wet grass plus drizzle does not make for dry feet!

Made a chocolate and beetroot cake with marscapone icing filling before heading into town to collect Miss PHL. She was a little under the weather as she and yet friend slightly overindulged on a zoom call last night but she rallied well.

Home in time for my friend and her hubby visiting with their gorgeous 5 year old lab. Clyde was very tolerant of Phin trying to get his attention and only gave a wee growl once. Slightly daunted by seeing them together as I don’t think we’d thought through the difference in size. Cake in the garden was a lovely way to catch up. The wonderful cross stitch was made by my very talented friend Fiona who can turn her hand to many crafty projects including the most beautiful batik work.

Made a roast chicken dinner which was enjoyed by us all before watching random stuff on TV. W as about to head to bed when I spotted the spider on the stairs which I had to take into the garden before Miss PHL had a canary!
