Erin Go Bragh Party Planning

My friend is hosting a St. Patrick's Day party for our expat group. We never seem to fall short of excuses to gather around brightly decorated tables full of food and alcohol!

Yesterday three of us gathered around a computer to order themed decorations from a US shop. But I was fairly sure we could supplement the festive favors with basics from the local retail supply store. So today I roamed the aisles of Metro snapping pictures of everything green and some things orange (Irish flag colors). See all the pretty shades of napkins available?

As I suspected, green balloons, green tablecloths, green paper lanterns, and green streamers can be found in abundance. I was very pleasantly surprised to also find a half dozen varieties of Irish Whiskey and another half dozen green-colored liquors and cocktail mixers :)

We're holding a pre-party cocktail recipe testing & tasting event at my house sometime soon. Any suggestions for us?
