Pancake Day!

Fastnacht, Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, call it what you want, in our house it's Pancake Day!

Tonight we got to try out the huge new electric griddle brought to us recently by friends from the US. It's awesome because I can cook 8 pancakes at a time on it and that makes feeding a hungry family of four growing kids go much faster :)

In honor of Pancake Day, here's a cute verse from one of my favorite American children's poets, Shel Silverstein:

Pancake Poem

Who wants a pancake,
Sweet and piping hot?
Good little Grace looks up and says,
"I'll take the one on top."
Who else wants a pancake,
Fresh off the griddle?
Terrible Teresa smiles and says,
"I'll take the one in the middle."
