Great Oaks
I started my walk from a regular spot but decided to head in a different direction to investigate a woodland further down the hill from the small beech woods that I usually frequent. There was a cold northeasterly which meant in was in my face going downhill, but at my back for the uphill return. The type of woodland can determine the range of fungi which will grow, amongst other things. I got to the bottom of the hill and entered the trees. No question what they were. Not many fungi, but some lovely trees with a very good crop of acorns.
