Traigh na Margaidh

Finally made it to Market Beach, we had attempted it on Wednesday but turned back  because the path was impossibly boggy after so much rain. Today it was marginally better and I had a decent map and compass so the absence of a track in several places was not a problem. It’s a short, in length, walk from the well defined and maintained path to Camus Tuath. The destination far outweighed the journey. The beach was deserted apart from a few sheep. I arrived just after low tide meaning only the main beach was accessible. I climbed to the highest point which is where I took this blip. One of the most spectacular beaches I have seen, close to meeting to those on Harris.
Reluctantly I made the return journey remembering to move the map upside down. Camus Tuath, once I was back on the main track, turned out to be far closer than I had realised, just over 10 minutes walk. The tide was now coming fast and with it the butterfish otters so love so I holed up on the rocks where I was rewarded by an energetic otter who would not stay still long enough for me to focus my camera. I got some great binocular views of him eating a fish in the water.
The extra blip is the otter spot in Camus Tuath.
