Flower Friday
It's been a successful forage day today.
I've strained and filled several bottles with an earlier sloe berry forage from last year (kept in the freezer for a time, and then stewed in the demijohn hidden above the extractor hood for six months). And Janet has made a very decent blackberry sorbet.
To balance this use of previous forage, we went out for our walk today and took a few pounds of blackberries from alongside the railway line, and picked out a very sizeable crop of sloes that we will come back for, for next year's gin.
The Bramley in the front garden is largely stripped of fruit (now cooked and frozen for pies), and the eating apple trees alongside the aforementioned railway line have a few less apples on them.
In the back garden, a few hours before, the flowers in the main shot were dancing in the breeze lit by the morning sunshine. I thought I'd leave them here unidentified and see if anyone cared to hazard a guess.
