Morning after the night before

I am a little bit tired today after such a late night last night. I'm usually in bed by 2130 so it was quite a novelty being out late enough to mange two consecutive blips on the one trip. The town was absolutely buzzing last night before the match. I took the train in straight from work and had a lovely bowl of beef chilli ramen in Ichiban, an amazing Japanese restaurant on Queen Street. It was like a steaming bowl of central heating and kept me radiated all night at the match - although the 15 layers probably helped with that as well.

I then wandered down to the Barras and joined the hordes making their way on foot to the ground. It was such an amazing atmosphere with everybody in full voice. Football awakens tribal instincts that usually lie dormant. Something to be said about walking along with 30,000 people all wearing the same "uniform".

Got to check out the new Velodrome as it is right beside Celtic Park. It is an awesome looking sight. I have applied to do my accreditation but there is a couple of month's waiting list. Cycling is such a utilitarian activity. What other sport can you use a brand new, world class facility for 25.00 GBP. Or for free, doesn't cost anything to ride up the Alpe d'Huez!! Also some pretty impressive cycling infrastructure being built with segregated bike lanes and cycle friendly junctions. I believe the plan is to eventually link the city centre and the east end with dedicated cycle infrastructure. Who knows, one day soon I might be cycling to the football..............
