Gannet at dawn

I looked out of the window and could see the sky starting to develop so woke Mike up and we headed for the Point.Mike stayed in the car while I went round, past the lighthouse and stood on the shingle to capture some photos of the sun coming up.Three other people were there but other than that it was quiet.Several gannets flew past, their unmissable shape looked good against the orange sky. A good start to the day.
We continued to tidy the garden before Richard came over. He’s hoping to go camping on Skye for a few days so needed his tent and stove etc.
Had a Girl guiding Zoom meeting in the evening. All quite depressing really. I do not think we’ll be going back to indoor meetings anytime soon even though Nicola Sturgeon has given the go ahead.I’m not sure we can hire the hall anyway but I just do not think it will work. It’s way to big to clean before and after each session, the chairs have soft coverings so we probably would not be able to use them which would mean the girls would sit on the floor which we would then have to clean and probably have to pay for the extra hours it would take to clean it all. Parents will not be allowed in the hall,a one way system needed, lots of signs would need to be put up.Our first aid kit will need updating with aprons, shields, masks, goggles etc.We would have to double glove when treating anyone as well as the whole kit.
Each girl would need their own resources eg, scissors, pens, pencils etc. Girl guiding will still be collecting the census subs in Feb and with no income since March and nearly £40 per member ( including each leader) it’s going to be very difficult for a lot of units so we’ll just have to see how it goes and maybe just start a fresh in the Spring. It all sounds really worrying, will Girl guiding survive , I hope so but it might be time for me to give it all up and do something different.
