Destruction or Management?

Today we had to acknowledge that it is one year ago that we lost our best friend, the original (the one and only) Bentley.

I took a work in 'Manic Wood' in Ardington; one of his favourite old roaming grounds.  He would spend many a happy time crashing through the undergrowth here.

However these woods have been closed for the last eight months (what with one thing and another) and the sight of them now was a shock.  I know that this is responsible management of the the woodland, the pine trees had become dominant, and the piles of branches and brush will be loved by the flora and forna, but it wasn't the view I was hoping for on this day.  Bentley would not have enjoyed this version of 'Manic Wood'.
