Beef Cattle.
Our aim now is to travel down to a favorite mooring spot, Branston Water Park. We began Christmas Day at this mooring in 2016. First of all we popped into our home marina at Great Haywood. During the fortnight we need to top up the diesel and have the toilet tanks pumped out, it seemed sensible to go to the marina we knew. "The Mate" at the helm carried a perfect "hang about" while another boat was at the services and then a flawless mooring against the not terribly accessible service.
Then we continued on down the Trent & Mersey canal towards Burton on Trent. The blip is of a couple of cattle ( I know you can see that). The reason is they are breeds we rarely see at home. The white faced one is a Hereford, probably the commonest breed in the world, I won't insult you by telling you where it originated. The Roan is a Beef shorthorn. SHorthorns were, when I was young, the commonest breed for both milk and meat. Since the introduction of Holstein/Friesians for milk (black and White) and the various continental beef breeds they are rarely seen.
