The Macclesfield Canal.
We knew that a large part of the day would be spent on the 12 locks (all within one mile) but we didn't realise just how much. We arrived at the locks to find a queue, worse it seems there was little water and the Canal and River Trust (CRT) staff had had to run water down before people could move.
Then it was made worse by an inept crew at the front and a couple of single handers, who obviously would be slow working locks on their own. To speed things up G and I paired up with the single handers leaving KKK CC and "The Mate" to bring up Solace. The flight took about three and a half hours, double the time I would expect if we had a unhindered run at it.
The blip is a general shot of the canal, I find it an extremely attractive canal. Rural, wandering its way along with lots of wildlife and plant life to add interest.
