Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Back to the gym!

JR happily went off to her first gym session in many months. Though not to the wee local gym - it’s not opened yet - she went along to the Commie Pool. In fact, she jogged along! With her mat under her arm. Keen!

I drank lots of water, as I was having a body scan this week at BodyStreet. But drinking lots of water an hour beforehand is not helpful - I have to drink lots of water all week, so I’m trying to. While I’m not sure if the sessions are doing me any good, they’re certainly not doing me any harm. And, apparently, I’m retaining my muscle mass, which we can lose quite rapidly once past 55.

Also had a cuddle with wee Zara (I keep calling her Xena...) who is a very well behaved wee pup.

I walked home via Bruntsfield and didn’t stop for a coffee (coffee dehydrates).

JR enjoyed her new class, sort of. She’s just trying a few to see what she likes. She liked the ones they did at the local gym, but it’s not them any more. She’s going to the gym tomorrow, just to use the equipment. There are hourly sessions, with the staff cleaning the equipment in between groups.

In the afternoon she took Archie to the Hermitage while I listened to a couple of podcasts, none of which I can remember, as I dozed off.

Still dreaming of being able to cycle along, relaxed and looking around at the scenery, stopping and starting at will. How nice that would be...
