Everything Has to Eat

I wonder what this smoke is doing to the birds and animals. The birds are still coming to the feeders and they don't seem to be slowing down but the squirrels seem to need more water than usual.  This tiny hummingbird was working hard to get enough nectar.

The air quality is still really bad.....reported to be the worst in the world right now. How can that be? Of course, the golf course is closed; outside dining is not happening.....back to more limitations. 

My daughter came to Portland today in order to take her daughter down to Eugene tomorrow; she is supposed to move into her apartment and start her 2nd year of college ..... I think it is a mistake to move with this poor air quality, but I am not in charge. It was so nice to have her here for the evening and night. She promised she would be visiting and staying with us more often now that she is without a house.

Hopefully the rain arrives tomorrow night. It can't come fast enough for us.
