Great Gable
This was taken from the summit of Walla Crag, height easy to remember (in old money) at 1234 feet. Keswick looking very compact, the pencil factory is well hidden. The church of Saint Kentigern (my favourtie celtic saint, I like the name along with Mungo and Moluag) which is the building standing on its own to the left of the town is where Robert Southey is buried.
A delightful slow easy climb with this view most of the way. Bassenthwaite (the only lake in the LD) and Derwentwater in the foreground.
Great Gable which is the peak in the distance is about three times the height of Walla Crag, nevertheless Walla Crag is a Wainwright.
Restful late afternoon yoga where I reached that state of deep relaxation without actually losing consciousness.
I could stay in this loop of mindful relaxation for ever.
