All the way from the USA

Here is my lovely friend BJ (Barbara Josephine) all the way from Mill Valley near San Francisco. She had to quarantine for two weeks after she arrived, but is here now for the rest of September.

We did the now mandatory walk around the village and back before BJ sampled Mum's birthday carrot cake. (Nearly all gone now.)

It was great to see her again.

Otherwise, I had a quiet day. I was keen to see a talk on Cheese Making this morning but switched off after less than 10 minutes. The speaker made poor jokes and had not started to talk about cheese by then. He seemed more preoccupied with his time working for M & S and telling us about being sent to Paris to research white crusty bread! I gave up with irritation.

Dick has worked in the garden for several hours. The lawns have been scarified and cut. Angus was happy to play and chase the ball. The cats have not been home all day and I'm sure they will be very hungry by now.
