Heysham

Raining first thing this morning but when I got back from delivering the weather had brightened up nicely.Decided on a motorcycle ride to Heysham.
I have never been to Heysham before and all I knew of it was the nuclear  power station which is just behind the cafe in the extras. The attraction was the church of ST Peters in the picture which didn't disappoint. The church is  8th century in origin and contains The Hogback Stone (Extras) which is one of the most ornately carved and best preserved in Britain.
The village is pretty with some nice tea shops but for me the cafe and the ice-cream van are what the British seaside is all about. The cafe serves a good full English and the views towards the Lake District are beautiful.

The ride itself was not so great.Far too much motorway used to reduce the travelling time.

More covid restrictions on the way but being honest who is taking any notice anyway.Last time I went into a shop I was the only one wearing a mask.

A wet start followed by a sunny and windy day.
