Last Orders At The Red Bull, Eccles

On my walk yesterday I had noticed this pub in one of our neighbouring villages, Eccles, has now been boarded up. It is the only pub in the village and the locals must be upset that it has now closed. A pub really can be the heart of a village. We have visited several times in the past, especially as a stopping off point on a long walk, for an alcoholic refreshment or two. It is so sad to see that it appears to have served it's last orders.
My second image is of a shop front in Aylesford Retail Park. A few short months ago this appeared to be a flourishing branch of a furniture and beds store but it was obviously closed during lockdown and as soon as it reopened the store closing signs were put up. It was still open this morning but when I returned in the evening it had already closed and most of the shop fittings had been removed. I have noticed more empty shops recently as a result of the pandemic - I really hope this is not a sign of things to come. I feel so sorry for the business owners and employees that have been so badly affected by all this.
