Seed Heads, Aylesford
Took a walk on my own today for about 5 miles - from home, then following a road alongside the Friars through a 'secret valley' (I only call it secret as hardly anyone else appears to use it) on a winding footpath - which passes a sewage works, an electricity substation and a solar farm (this could be why no one else uses it!) - to the neighbouring village of Eccles.
From there I climbed the lower slopes of the North Downs, through a vineyard and back downhill to try and locate Little Kit's Coty (the sign is now obscured by an overgrown hedge). It's official name is actually Little Kit's Coty House and it is a neolithic chambered longbarrow. Unlike it's sister/brother long barrow on a higher slope of the North Downs - just called Kit's Coty (as referenced in a previous blip on 17th May ) - the stones are no longer standing - as per my secondary image.
My main image is actually of some seed heads at the side of he road on my way back home as I think this is actually a more dramatic image!
