Do the French really eat these?

We have had two days of horrendous rain, so we are not happy bunnies. Did a lovely soup for dinner and just as we were sitting down to eat Roy noticed this little fellow on the patio window. How he got there goodness only knows, as our garden is nowhere near the patio window. He would have had to have climbed up the outside wall, down the inside wall across the back terrace then up the patio window some walk. Anyway I gently picked him from the window and put him back amongst the conifers.

Off to the gym to do an hours spinning, do some weights, then have a sauna, should have done step this morning but had 'sticky mattress syndrome' (couldn't get out of bed, too comfy).
