Fire, Everywhere!

This photo was taken this afternoon near my son's worksite located in Clackamas, County Oregon. The state has declared a state of emergency due to multiple fires. Much of the West Coast of the U.S. experienced a once-in-a-hundred-years wind storm with strong, desiccating winds over the past couple of days. These winds have spread fires that were already burning and a new fire was started when a power line came down in the wind.

The skies over much of western Oregon were nearly dark in mid-day due to all the roiling smoke and ash. The West Coast is burning, and the effects of climate change are terrifying.

Between COVID, the upcoming Presidental election, and fires everywhere, it is unnerving.
