Porcelain Fungi (Oudemansiella mucida)
We had a super and varied day. We're on a black-and-white landscape workshop but that doesn't stop us photographing other interesting things we come across. This morning as we walked down to Derwentwater we came across these superb examples of porcelain fungus, so we had to stop for a while to capture some photos.
The first extra shows a drop of the mucoid liquid about to drop off then edge of one of them - along with a photobombing fly!
Just to show that we did also do some B&W work, I've added another extra of a duck giving foreground interest to a misty background.
Tomorrow we'll spend most of the time indoors learning the finer techniques of black-and-white conversion before going out again onm Thursday to take some more photos.
