New path

Just behind that cluster of buildings in the top right of today's photo is where I used to live in Underley Home Farmhouse. That would have been nearly thirty years ago! We used to walk through this field to pick up the path that follows the river into Kirkby Lonsdale, less than a mile from our front door into town.

We moved out in 1997 but I've run through the field, alongside this fence, many times since and it was part a regular route that Dan and I used to take during lockdown.

Today, as a I took a run for #milesforrefugees, I discovered that they are making a proper footpath here. I'm not sure why, tbh. The Minx's theory is that it's so people working in the new(ish) business park on the estate can walk into town. It's not often that I see myself as a cynic but I think they'd drive.
