Irresistible force and immoveable object, etc

A lovely time with L and A. It's been a while since we saw them at their place (possible New Year's Eve 2018?), although I think we've seen them here since then. L had baked, so we had buttery fattening treats. And Mr A played endlessly with Ledi the dog, who continues to be a bundle of energy. They spent a very long time indeed wrestling over a ball, and basically nobody won (although Ledi was pretty tired afterwards so he had to have a snooze immediately, whereas Mr A waited until we had walked home before he had his afternoon snooze).

Walking back from Stockbridge, we met meles and DaveH, who were also walking back from Stockbridge having scored pies at Mellis the Cheesemongers. We had a nice chat, partly stopping to look at the river (we saw the heron in flight but nobody was quick enough for a photograph) and partly wandering along.

Nothing much else happened during the rest of the day, and I popped out at tea time to pick up fish and chips because I felt Mr A deserved a break from the kitchen, but I wasn't inclined to do the cooking in order to deliver that break.... And I read somewhere that yesterday was national fish and chips day, so it would have been rude not to.
