Woodland Explorers

Responding to the children's current enthusiasm for wildlife, we took a walk in our local country park. The schools are off for mid-term so the new play park was mobbed. Our kids were content to pass it by for once and explore the woods in search of birds and snowdrops.

No.1 managed to correctly identify a Great Tit by its song. Eventually I caught sight of the bird and realised she was right. I'm so proud to be her dad.

I liked the texture of the bark on these magnificent trees.
