Sally Mair - Loving life

Sew what!

Today after an extended stay of over a year, Pickle has gone home. She may be back for a visit, but she has gone home to Ali and Stuart. She seemed very happy about it when I told her as you can see, but a bit concerned that they might not have a hard wooden table with a sewing machine on it for her to relax by!

Today I managed to get a talk written for a Zoom meeting at the end of this week and also to catch up with some correspondence. Colin and I both forgot its an English holiday today, so he went to the bank which was closed and I tried to phone HMRC!

The funny thing was I'd just come off the phone when he got a call, on his mobile whereas I'd used mine, so no connection just a coincidence.... Unless big brother really is paying closer attention to our activities. The recorded message purported to come from HMRC, he laughed as he hung up and said “No it's not you're closed today“! It was nasty though, threatened to arrest him if he didn't immediately press 1 and arrange to pay his outstanding tax bill... It is unbelievable that with all the technology we have today, the companies doing these things can't be shut down. That would be a very good use of track and trace!

I spent a long time today on my blip entries renumbering the count of days of our lockdown. We went into hibernation a little before it was compulsory, so my count is different to the official one. I'd noticed though that gradually, the number of days between my count and the other had reduced... by 5 days! I went through the whole lot, 168 entries editing the numbering and being amused at my complete inability to add one number every day correctly!

I had little exercise today apart from a trip to Ali's to take Pickle home and a visit to the shops at the same time.

We watched an episode of Killing Eve this evening, somehow we'd forgotten about that series, we've still got another 4 to go so that's good news. This episode seemed like a catch up so was quite useful after such a long gap.

Cleo was very calm this evening, I wonder if she'll miss Pickle.

Steps today 6330

Keep safe and well everybody it's still important to take care
