Scallops

I wonder if there is a tradition anywhere of using scallops as fortune-telling devices the ways that so many other hings were, like the innards of a slaughtered animal, the shape of bird flocks etc. I know that pilgrims to the shrine of St James of Compostela wore them as a badge and the internet tells me they were used to represent the Celtic goddess Bridgette too.
