MOURNING

#travelled for 90 mins from Glyfada to the Corinth Canal...an amazing bit engineering.
We then played hotel gamble....we hadn’t booked a hotel for the night. If we caught the train we would stay up the mountain....if not we stay at the base and go tomorrow....
#we made it....the hour+ journey through the gorge was impressive...I took loads of photos...luckily you only get 1...the rock formations are amazing. We booked the hotel on the train up.
We got our first choice hotel...Canyon Spa
#the Rev found the best way to read and cool down in the pool!!!
#then we went to the Kalavrita Holocaust Memorial....extremely sad.

Nazi troops locked up women and children in the school. All males over 12 were taken to Kapi Hill. They set fire to the school and killed nearly 700 men (only 13 survived). An Austrian solider opened the school door and the women managed to escape.
How a community manages to turn into a lovely friendly buzzing town is truly astounding.
