Borlotti

I didn’t realise they were climbing borlotti. It was a second sowing after the first went kaput. Rapidly improvised a stick and bailer twine support that has proved, in the immortal Gavinesque phrase, very robooost.

They have been productive and we are picking for drying every day as the pods turn purple - a sign they are readying to split spontaneously.

I water once or twice a day with a semi-buried drip irrigation system. Very effective.

In an ideal world I’d have bought a hose with more drip perforations. You live and learn. Reap what you sow. And gather what you water.
