Not Silly Saturday ...
... Ruby-throated hummingbird ... again.
I feel so lucky to have the hummingbirds return time and time again to our yard. And I hope I'm not boring you with so many photos of them. We typically don't see the hummers all that much ... despite having so many flowers that attract them. This looks to be the juvenile male hummer ... but we have also seen a female come around.
We had our second monarch butterfly eclose (emerge) sometime early this morning. When R checked on him (we knew last night that he would emerge today) before 7:00 am he had already emerged ... he is an early bird! When we went to release him (it's a male) I failed to get any photos because he immediately flew up into one of our evergreen trees. I only got one photo of him while he was still in the enclosure ... see extra.
This beautiful monarch was released in the memory of the Beloved dad (John Henry) of a very special blip friend. I'm sorry, J, that I didn't get a better photo.
