My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

Caro has been delighted with herself today. She has been beavering around in a hive of activity, like a mixed metaphor of happiness.

The reason is that we had an electrician in. He was to do the following:

- Replace ugly light fittings with groovy, modern ones
- Put a damp-chaser under the stairs
- Put a proper light switch in the cupboard under the stairs
- Put extra plug-points under the stairs
- Move a heating panel from the spare bedroom to the big bedroom

The damp-chaser is just a low-energy heater to ensure the space under the stairs where our water-pump lives stays nice and dry. And the cupboard under the stairs previously had a stupid STUPID switch that turned on when you open the door. Like a fridge.

These are only small things, but they make Caro very happy. "Have you LOOKED under the stairs?" she asks. "Have you?"

So I did. Everything has now been rearranged and it is all very neat. Our printer and our rechargeable vacuum have been relocated there. It is all very neat.

AND Caro organised to go out for dinner tomorrow night. At first I suggested just me and her, but then we decided to invite Tiger and Loulou too. 

I don't know if this makes up for the imminent end of her holiday, but she certainly seems in a much better mood today.

And Jasper played with his duck on top of the cat tree, because that's what Jaspers do.
